[food] Firebell

When I heard that "Firebell" a burger joint, opened near my workplace, I was taken aback - a burger place... here? I mean, I love this area, but it's not necessarily the foodie hub of Seoul. I was a bit weary, but other friends who live/work near the area wanted to check it out so we ran there during our respective lunch breaks to break bread (break burgers?)...

Thankfully - I was thoroughly impressed. Their menu is fairly simple, but delicious. The burgers were made quickly and beautifully, and plated quite well. The interior is very "firehouse" like with red and white everywhere. And the service - quick, and uber-polite.

I got the Habana burger - a 5 oz patty with a jalapeno mayo and white cheddar cheese. Simple, but very well flavored and the patty done medium to perfection. The fries were cripsy and delicious, and overall I had a great, quick lunch hour.

The price is a bit on the steep side (for this area at least) - with a burger costing anywhere from 7500 to 11000 won + 4000 for a set menu (fries and a drink). But it's definitely worth going to if you work in the area and are craving a real burger (not any of that sweet fast food mumbo jumbo).

To get to Firebell, head to Seolleung Station (line 2 and Bundang line), Exit 2. Walk straight forward until you pass the Pizza Hut and Cafe Nescafe. Take a left and Firebell will be on your left after about 100 meters.
